Arthur L. Chait to Present at Annual Licensing Executives Society
Redwood City, CA – March 14, 2007 - EoPlex Technologies, the advanced materials company that manufactures miniature devices that generate, harvest, and manage energy, announced today that its CEO, Arthur L. Chait, will present at the seventh annual conference of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) of the U.S. and Canada. The three-day conference begins March 21st and is held this year at the Hewlett Packard Company in Palo Alto. Chait will serve as a panelist in the Wednesday afternoon session, "I Did It My Way," featuring five unique stories by corporate leaders on how each succeeded in building a startup.
Chait's presentation asks, "How does a startup company build a manufacturing business supplying unique components to major OEMs who demand a secure supply chain and multiple sources of supply?" It includes comments about the role of licensing and how it might be used to reach a solution that works for all parties.
EoPlex will be introduced by Chait as an early stage company backed by several large Venture Capital firms including: Draper Fisher Jurvetson, ATA Ventures, and Labrador Ventures. Chait will describe how EoPlex makes high-tech miniature components for energy and thermal products that are impossible to make efficiently by any other means. He will explain how the process is low cost and is especially valuable for complex 3-D components including: energy scavengers, miniature fuel-cells reformers, thermal management systems, and sensors.
Chait will further describe how EoPlex faces the challenge of developing new components that fill critical needs of their multinational customers, and how these large companies require a secure supply chain, advanced quality systems and most importantly sufficient capacity to meet demand in rapid growth situations. All of these requirements are challenges for any startup, and Chait will address some of the ways his company has met these requirements and the role that licensing has played in developing solutions that are favorable to all parties.
About EoPlex Technologies, Inc.
EoPlex Technologies, Inc. produces components in layers using custom printing equipment and proprietary "inks" that carry ceramic, metallic or polymer materials to millions of locations. This allows the manufacture of components with integrated chambers, channels, sensors, circuits, reactors, energy scavengers, and other features. Many parts are created simultaneously in large panels and the only tooling required is low-cost printing masks. As a result, there is great flexibility to change designs quickly, allowing fast time to market and even modifications during full production runs. EoPlex can manufacture components and systems from a wide range of metallic, ceramic, glass and polymer materials.
